The Senior Card will return to the Community of Madrid during the first half of 2027. Aimed at people over the age of 55, the card—which will be available in both physical and digital formats—will consolidate access to public and private resources, discounts, cultural activities, training, and wellness programs into a single platform. President Isabel Díaz Ayuso announced the measure during her address at the State of the Region Debate, held at the Madrid Assembly.
The initiative is part of the Plan for Active Aging and Prevention of Dependency, launched by the regional government last year with an annual investment of 400 million euros. The plan includes more than 100 initiatives aimed at promoting active lifestyles among older adults and strengthening their presence in society, in coordination with other government agencies and social organizations.
Senior Card: What It Includes and How to Apply

The card will offer discounts on activities and events, access to digital and university training, and technology workshops. In the area of health, it will include adapted physical exercise programs, activities to prevent falls, and initiatives aimed at emotional well-being. Cardholders will also be able to easily consult a map of available public resources and learn about offerings from the private sector participating in the program.
From a technological standpoint, the Senior Card will operate through a digital platform connected to the Single Social Record and to other services in the Autonomous Region and Dependency Care portfolio, such as advanced telecare. Those wishing to apply for it may do so at citizen service offices, social centers, or through the Community of Madrid’s Electronic Registry.
A more integrated system
The regional government is presenting this card as a tool to simplify access to benefits that until now were scattered across different channels.
By bringing together services, benefits, and activities in a single platform, the Community aims to enable people over 55 to manage their resources with greater autonomy and without fragmented administrative procedures. Details regarding the application process and the complete catalog of benefits will be finalized before its launch, scheduled for the first half of 2027.
