Pitingo, Café Quijano, and DePol will be the headliners of “Las Veladas en el Lago,” a series of six free outdoor concerts that will fill the July nights in Tres Cantos with music. The city council is sticking to its tried-and-true formula: free admission, a stage next to the lake in Central Park, and a lineup designed for audiences of all ages—from flamenco-soul lovers to those nostalgic for 2000s pop.
The musical program for “Evenings by the Lake” spans three weekends in July and features a distinctly intergenerational lineup, ranging from flamenco-soul to emerging pop, leaving no one out. The opening night will be on Friday, July 3, featuring Pitingo, who will present his show *Pitingo y Punto*, a daring and successful fusion of flamenco, soul, and Latin American rhythms in a live performance brimming with personality and emotion.
Next up, on Friday , July 10, is DePol: the very young Catalan artist—who has become one of the most promising figures in Spanish pop thanks to millions of streams on platforms and tours alongside established acts—will arrive in Tres Cantos to perform songs from his debut album, *No lo sé ni yo*, live. On Saturday, July 18, it will be Café Quijano’s turn to put the finishing touch on the 2026 Veladas en el Lago with a concert designed for a more mature audience, in which the brothers from León will revisit nearly three decades of their career and perform their greatest hits.
A great summer outing north of Madrid
In addition to the music, this sixth edition of “Veladas en el Lago” will feature a very special premiere: the start of the series will mark the unveiling of a new monumental sculpture by the water. The piece is titled *Paola. La Mirada*, created by Ávila-based artist Iván Gómez, a highly acclaimed contemporary artist whose works are part of public and private collections and institutions throughout the country. Crafted from marble dust and iron, the sculpture stands 320 centimeters tall and will be located next to the lake in Central Park, further enhancing the cultural and artistic character of this key spot in Tres Cantos. Tres Cantos is located about 20 kilometers north of Madrid and has good connections by car (M-607) and by commuter train (Line C-4), making it easy for residents of other municipalities or the capital to attend without too much hassle. However, since these are free concerts featuring well-known artists, the City Council recommends arriving early to secure a good spot and avoid last-minute crowds at the entrances.
