Since September 1, 18 municipalities in the Community of Madrid, including the capital, have been affected by scheduled daytime power outages that will last for five days. These interruptions are not due to supply failures, but to maintenance and improvement work on the electricity network carried out by i-DE (Iberdrola Group), with the aim, according to the company, of guaranteeing a safer and higher quality service in the future.
Which municipalities are affected by the power outages?

The outages affect specific areas of the following municipalities: Madrid capital, Alcobendas, Becerril de la Sierra, Collado Villalba, Fresnedillas de la Oliva, Fuenlabrada, Getafe, Las Rozas, Majadahonda, Moralzarzal, Móstoles, Navalagamella, Pozuelo de Alarcón, San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Torrejón de la Calzada, Torrejón de Velasco, Tres Cantos and Villa del Prado.
The interruptions are carried out during daylight hours, generally during the morning and early afternoon, to minimize inconvenience during the night. The duration of each outage varies, but in most cases it is between 30 minutes and 3 hours. If the work is completed ahead of schedule, power can be restored immediately and without prior notice, so it is recommended not to carry out electrical work during the outage period to avoid accidents.
How do I know if my street will be affected?
The distribution company informs by means of posters in the affected portals, at least 24 hours in advance, and has a tool in its Customer Area to consult by address or zip code the streets and exact times of the cuts. In addition, users can register to receive SMS or e-mail alerts on the planning of scheduled outages.
The complete list, including day and time, is also available at the following link.
The company warns that it is important not to tamper with electrical installations during the planned outage. Those who depend on electrical medical devices should inform the distribution company (telephone 900 171 171 or contacto@i-de.es) to receive priority warnings and assistance in case of interruptions.
