The Porto lineup is impressive and is, in essence, a continuation of that huge birthday celebration Barcelona is organizing for the 25th anniversary of the original festival. As a result, there are touches that pay homage to the early editions of Primavera Sound, such as ANOHNI performing Lou Reed songs, and icons like The Chemical Brothers, Wilco, Dinosaur Jr., Bonnie Prince Billy, Don Caballero, and Julien Baker.
But there’s also that sense of the future, of what’s to come, with acts like Fontaines D.C. (who will present their album *Dopamine Chamber*), Hayley Williams making her solo debut in Portugal, FKA twigs with a new show, beabadoobee (presenting *Pylon*), and Lola Young.
Not to mention genres so beloved and respected by Portuguese audiences as rock, punk, and shoegaze: Porto will be the city to welcome DIIV as they present their upcoming album, *ZIRP!*, along with Converge, English Teacher, Gurriers, Friko…; or the contemporary pop and electronic music of Tinashe, Kim Petras, underscores, Metronomy, CHVRCHES, Christine and the Queens, and Shygirl.
Not to mention the unmissable presence of the Latin American and local scene, featuring Marina Sena, Branko, Clã, Mães Solteiras, Cassete Pirata, Santiago Motorizado, TRISTÁN!, and pablopablo, among others.
