As if to contradict the superstitious, this Tuesday May 13 is accompanied by good news for Madrid’s culture: it is the day on which the Museo del Traje (Avenida de Juan de Herrera, 2), which had been closed to the public since April 17 due to works on its façade, will reopen.
Its spring program is full of novelties, one of the most outstanding being the temporary exhibition Raíces (Roots), which celebrates 100 years of the Regional Costume Exhibition that gave birth to the museum. In addition, the permanent exhibition will host interventions by Lorenzo Caprile, Teresa Helbig and Ana Locking.
His return, on the other hand, could not have come at a better time. It does so on the eve of the celebration, this Saturday, May 17, of a new edition of the Night of the Museums, an occasion for which they have prepared various activities.
The Night of the Museums 2025 at the Museo del Traje
On the night of May 17 to 18 and on the occasion of this event, the Museo del Traje will open in special hours from 19h to 00h with a special program. Thanks to it, the museum will go back in time to 1925 to turn its permanent exhibition into a game of clues for all ages with which visitors will discover its history.
They will not be alone in this task: they will have the help of the museum staff, who once again this year will be dressed up for the occasion, thanks to the costumes provided by the Teatro de la Zarzuela. Upon completing the game, participants will receive a small gift.
Among the activities -which , by the way, are all free of charge- there will also be charleston dance workshops (at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.), guided visits to the making of the temporary exhibition Raíces ( at 7, 8 and 9 p.m.) and a creative space for handicrafts and a play area for the little ones.
