Just 40 kilometers from Madrid, a municipality in the region will return to the past to host, from September 26 to 28, its own Roman Market. The event, which will take place in Galapagar, will take place in the center of the town of Madrid.
Specifically, the Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza de la Iglesia, Avenida de los Voluntarios and Calle Guadarrama will be the locations where the picturesque market will be held this weekend from 11 am to 11 pm.
Throughout the three days, attendees will be able to experience the historical atmosphere of the event and, in addition, participate in the various cultural proposals that the City Council has prepared for the occasion.
Activities of the Galapagar Roman Market
The program of the Roman Market is designed to please both children and adults. Thinking of the little ones, for example, you can find a children’s school of gladiatorial combat, “designed to bring in a fun and educational way the history of ancient Rome,” they say from the Consistory galapagueño.
In addition to this activity, there will be Roman parades, juggling shows or exhibitions of crafts and jewelry. There will also be options to fill the stomach with gastronomic stalls offering everything from Galician food to traditional cheeses.
Storytelling on Friday
Very close to where the Roman Market will be held, in the Ricardo León Municipal Library (Plaza de la Constitución, 3), on Friday, September 26th at 6:30 pm there will also be a storytelling activity by the writer Diego López Rapado. Admission is free until full capacity.
Other plans for the weekend in the Community of Madrid

In addition to the Roman Market in Galapagar, this weekend throughout the region there will be events such as exhibitions, drone shows and concerts. You can find out about these and other plans in this article.
