It seems like something from another century (and it really is), but there are still people who remember it for the simple reason that they lived it: Chamartín was a town independent from Madrid. It was called Chamartín de la Rosa and was annexed to Madrid in 1948.
To celebrate this event, the Madrid district has been celebrating a tapas route since June 14 (and until June 23). Some fifteen establishments in the neighborhood participate in it, offering a tapa for between €3.5 and €6, which includes wine, beer, soft drink or vermouth in some cases.
