For the third consecutive year, the neighborhood of San Nicasio, in Leganés, will become an ambassador of Galician folklore and gastronomy with the celebration of a new edition of the Galician Seafood Fair. The dates chosen are November 13 to 16: four days to enjoy and learn about Galician traditions.
Once again, the Millennium Square will be the location where a large tent will be installed under which the event will be held. The event, designed for all audiences, will have in its culinary leg with gastronomy and traditional products -such as empanadas, lacón or different varieties of seafood-.
Regarding the folklore of this Galician Seafood Fair, there will be performances by bagpipers, distribution of roasted chestnuts (in a nod to the celebration of Magosto), popular queimada and the Agrupación Rosalía de Castro -one of the oldest Galician groups in Spain- will star in a parade and a performance in typical costumes.
The objective of the San Nicasio District Municipal Board with this celebration is to “energize the neighborhoods and encourage neighbors to enjoy plans within Leganés”.

More Galician festivities in Madrid this November

Before the Seafood Fair takes place, Olmeda de las Fuentes -a small town in Madrid- is going to be celebrating its own Magosto on Saturday, November 8. This is a traditional festival with roots in Galicia and the north of the country that marks the end of the harvest: roasted chestnuts are eaten, mulled wine and queimada are drunk and people dance to the beat of Celtic music.
