In forty years, the Swatch Group has become one of the largest watch manufacturers in the world. To attract the attention of customers with more fashion sense, the brand has been responsible for offering elegant, functional and innovative designs. This is the case of the new model that has just launched just before Christmas: Chulapo, which pays tribute to the capital of Spain with a fun artistic creation both in the watch itself and in the case that keeps it.
The person in charge of its design has been Gondho, architect and painter from Madrid that takes reference from urban artists like Keith Haring to make cheerful and full of movement pieces. In his collaboration with Swatch, Gondho has expressed his unconditional love for Madrid, which he represents with very traditional symbols: chulapos on the strap, stew ingredients on the dial and other surprising drawings on a matte white base.
This Madrid watch is almost like a portable work of art: a unique design that can only be found in Swatch stores in the capital (there are three: one in Preciados and two others in the Salamanca district) for 110 euros, a similar price models of other artistic collections such as The Simpsons.
Chulapo is part of the special Destination Watch collection, which is inspired by major cities around the world to capture their essence and transmit it through a trend-setting accessory.
