Just an hour from Madrid, in the Sierra Norte, a small town of just 300 inhabitants is preparing to welcome tradition, creativity and local flavor. This is the “Redueña Artesana” fair, which will be held this Saturday, October 11 in Redueña and reaches its tenth anniversary.
A total of 33 exhibitors will bring together artists, artisans and visitors around crafts and local culture. And, beyond shopping, it will be possible to participate in workshops and gastronomic tastings and enjoy the parades and traditional music. With this, the Redueña fair aims to create a unique experience that highlights the customs, craftsmanship and folklore of the area.
Workshops and a traditional recipe for two euros

“Redueña Artesana ” will run throughout the day, with an extensive program of activities for all audiences. The opening will be at 11:00 am, followed by a parade with dulzainas, giants and big-heads.
In the morning and afternoon, there will be craft workshops where you can try unplugged wooden games and get closer to traditional music and dance. And from 13:30 hours will come the traditional recipe of potatoes revolconas, in a popular meal in which the dishes cost only 2 euros.
To the rhythm of folklore

At 7:00 p.m., traditional music will once again be the protagonist. Groups such as El Paloteo de San Pedro de Gaíllos, Guitarreros Entresierras and Dulzaineros will play. In this way, the craft fair of Redueña pays tribute to the creation of art in the context of the local agrarian identity.
After nine years of experience, the municipality continues to bet on this sample that claims its folklore and attracts different artists from the area. In addition, according to the City Council’s own website, it is “a perfect complement to cultural and artistic projects that seek to promote diversity and creativity“.
Crafts to take away

The “Redueña Artesana” fair will close its doors the same Saturday at 8 pm. Although it is only held for one day, visitors can take a piece of tradition home with them, through the products sold at the various stalls. To encourage purchases and highlight the value of handmade creations, there will be a raffle for a basket of handmade products.
Those who buy at the fair and fill in the artisan passport will be able to participate : at least four products must be purchased among the various exhibitors at the fair, so that each of them will stamp a space in the passport. Drinks at the Acrópolis Bar or the Coliseo Terrace are also included.
