Madrid will host a must-attend event for anyone who enjoys hunting for furniture with a history, one-of-a-kind lamps, antique tableware, retro posters, or small collectibles. BROCANTE, billed as the capital’s grand showcase of auction finds, antiques, and vintage design, will hold its second edition on October 17 and 18 at the Railway Museum.
Admission will cost 5 euros per day and will allow visitors to explore more than 100 booths featuring specialized exhibitors, 20th-century design pieces, vintage furniture, contemporary crafts, and unique items from Spain, France, and Portugal. It’s the kind of outing where you go to “just take a look” and end up coming home with a chair from the ’60s, an antique mirror, or a suitcase just begging to be turned into a side table.
A treasure hunt to discover hidden gems
The event is organized by Mercado de Motores, one of Madrid’s best-known markets, and will bring together more than a hundred booths dedicated to vintage design, collecting, auctions, and crafts. The selection will feature items from different eras and styles: from mid-century furniture to tableware, glassware, film cameras, toys, industrial pieces, signage, lighting, ceramics, and contemporary decor.
The first edition drew nearly 20,000 visitors, a figure that explains why the event is returning to the Railroad Museum. Now it’s back with a program designed for interior design professionals, antique dealers, and collectors, as well as for those who simply want to find a unique piece for their home.
