Just a few days before the premiere of the new episodes of Bridgerton, its stars strolled through the streets of Madrid, discovering iconic monuments such as the Royal Palace and the most traditional taverns in the Barrio de las Letras neighborhood.
Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Yerin Ha (Sophie Baek), and Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton) arrived in the capital to promote the series and during their visit they were able to discover all its charms. La Dolores, one of Madrid’s most iconic gastronomic bars,is particularly noteworthy.
From London to Madrid in 1908

The Netflix aristocrats have gone from the tranquility of tea rooms to the hustle and bustle of Madrid. In the heart of the Barrio de las Letras, at Plaza de Jesús, 4, they were able to experience firsthand what it’s like to eat in an authentic Madrid tavern.
La Dolores, founded in 1908 as a restaurant, still retains its old-fashioned décor, marble bar, and counter full of tapas, montaditos, and pickles. It is known for the quality of its beers , and its products include gildas, anchovies in vinegar , and its famous Cantabrian anchovies, cleaned by hand.
On its social media accounts, Netflix has shared several photos showing the bar’s façade, recognizable thanks to its antique tiles that, like a mosaic, remind us that they sell “fresh beers and tapas,” “liqueurs,” and “Valdepeñas wines.“
A tavern from the series

Throughout its history, La Dolores has managed to build customer loyalty and welcome all kinds of social classes. In its early days, it was the regular haunt of the Palace Hotel chauffeurs, and today it is common to see locals, tourists, and celebrities there.
It has attracted great artists such as Elvis Costello, one of the best rock singer-songwriters of the 70s and 80s, who appears in an image shared by La Dolores in 2018, enjoying the tavern’s products.
In the case of TV series, the cast of Bridgerton was not the first to visit, as the cast of Money Heist did soin 2019. Among them was Fernando Cayo, the Spanish actor who plays Colonel Luis Tamayo in the series.
More corners of Madrid

During their stay in Madrid, the actors from Bridgerton also visited the Campo del Moro Gardens and the Royal Palace, a setting that fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the series. They also visited the Cibeles fountain, the Palace Hotel, and the Four Seasons Hotel, where they stayed.
In the coming months, the essence of Bridgerton will continue in Madrid with the music of the Candlelight concerts. On March 27 and April 24, candles and aristocratic melodies will fill the Official College of Physicians of Madrid in a unique recital, for which tickets are already on sale.
