With the arrival of September, flea markets have returned to the streets of Madrid, but few feature that French-style flea market format that stirs the excitement of searching for that hidden gem among antiques of all kinds.
The Salamanca neighborhood is hosting an edition of Déballage for the first time. Next Sunday, September 27, Plaza Alfredo Mahou (Calle Juan Bravo, 3) will bring together 30 vendors specializing in antiques and vintage goods from Spain and France, open continuously from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This marks the first time this boutique fair format has come to one of the capital’s neighborhoods with the longest-standing tradition of commerce and interior design. The Déballage at Juan Bravo is brought to you by El Déballage de La Moraleja, an event that, over several editions, has established itself as a benchmark on Madrid’s antique fair circuit.
What You’ll Find There

The selection of pieces will cover a wide range: Venetian mirrors, period chairs, painted chests of drawers, bronze and glass tables, lamps with designer shades, ceramic and porcelain objects, as well as silverware—trays, cutlery—and antique tableware that is making a comeback. The venue will also feature paintings and sculptures, both classical and contemporary, expanding the scope beyond decorative objects and extending it into the realm of collecting.
The choice of the Salamanca neighborhood is no coincidence: its buyer profile, itstradition in interior design and decoration, and its rich cultural offerings make it the natural setting for a fair of this kind. For those seeking pieces with history and character to transform a space, the event on September 27 offers a rare opportunity in a street-fair format with free admission.
