There is still nearly a month to go before the 2026 World Cup kicks off, but the Community of Madrid and Metro have already launched a special train, completely wrapped in red and covered with images of players such as Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Pedri, Unai Simón, and Oyarzabal, as well as head coach Luis de la Fuente.
The design was created by the Royal Spanish Football Federation and aims to bring the spirit of the fans to the tunnels of Madrid while the ball is rolling in the United States, Mexico, and Canada between June 11 and July 19.
Which line will it run on and until when

This themed train belongs to the 3000 series and operates on Line 4, between Argüelles and Pinar de Chamartín, where it will be integrated into regular service for the entire duration of the tournament. It is neither a tourist train nor a special service with its own schedule: it will run alongside the other trains on the line, so that any passenger can “hop on La Roja’s train” without deviating from their daily route.
This train’s stop at Colón station is no coincidence, as a fan zone will be set up in the plaza where fans can watch the national team’s matches on a giant screen, recreating the atmosphere of a large stadium right on the street. Thus, the Metro becomes a prelude to that experience: fans arrive in a themed train car, step out onto the street, and are fully immersed in Madrid’s World Cup fan fest.
Beyond the soccer nod, the project aims to strengthen the institutional partnership between the Community of Madrid, Metro, and the RFEF, which are using the train as a mobile showcase to promote the national team while also encouraging the use of public transportation during major events.
