As if the recent visit by Pope Leo XIV and Bad Bunny’s stay weren’t enough, now Tom Holland is joining the soccer festivities in Madrid. The British actor will make a special appearance at Plaza Selección de Colón on June 15, just before Spain’s World Cup debut against Cape Verde, as part of his visit to the city to promote his new film.
Plaza Selección will become the main gathering place for Spanish fans in the coming days: the most important matches featuring Spain will be broadcast on giant screens there, with entertainment zones, music, and free activities for fans. In this setting, just before the first World Cup match, Tom Holland will make a strategic stop on his schedule to greet the Madrid crowd… and ride the wave of the “red tide” to talk about his new movie.
Photocalls, interviews, and greetings to the fans
The actor will leave his hotel at 4:20 p.m. to arrive at Colón around 4:40 p.m., with the timing calculated down to the minute to fit in a photo op, quick interviews, and a greeting on stage without interfering with the start of the match.
Once the interviews are over, and with the atmosphere already buzzing,Tom Holland (and possibly Zendaya) will take the main stage at Plaza Selección, before kickoff, to greet the fans and wish Spain luck in the tournament.
The event will end around 5:30 p.m., when Holland and his team will leave the plaza again to head back to the hotel, setting the stage for what everyone has come to see: 90 minutes of World Cup action.
