Virtual reality has long since ceased to be the stuff of movies or games played in the living room. Now it’s something to share. At Spark Island Madrid Norte, an immersive entertainment center spanning over 1,500 square meters in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Spark VR turns virtual reality into a group activity, allowing up to eight players to share a mission from start to finish. And for before and after the experience, the venue also features Prison Island, the escape game inspired by Fort Boyard (the well-known French TV show), and the Spark Café, where you can grab a drink. Tickets on sale here.

Here’s what a group virtual game is like
At Spark VR, no one stands still (or can!). The arena operates in a free-roam format. What does this mean? It means players walk freely around the room, and every real-world step translates into the game.
The equipment includes a headset, two controllers, and a vibrating vest that lets you feel every impact, explosion, or blow in your body. Sessions accommodate 2 to 8 people and require no prior experience, as the center’s staff explains everything before you begin. Half an hour is enough to try virtual reality for the first time; an hour is for the most intense players, who, according to the center itself, usually leave exhausted.
What virtual reality games can you try at Spark Island Madrid Norte?

The catalog is designed so that every group can find its own virtual universe, featuring up to 20 different games. Those seeking an adrenaline rush can try Death Squad, a wave-based defense against zombies where the team upgrades its weapons round by round; or Cyberclash, a duel between two teams that shifts from a lava arena to a desert or a tournament stadium. For the bravest players, there’s *Insanity: The Haunting*, a cooperative horror experience where the setting itself is part of the scare.
If the plan is more about laughs than precision, Kitchen Panic! turns the group into the staff of a Parisian restaurant under the command of Chef François, with increasingly complex recipes, slippery floors, and stoves ablaze. On Kraken Island, the team defends an island from waves of skeleton pirates coming to reclaim their treasure, and DragonFall adds a touch of fantasy with dragons as the main characters.
Families are in a league of their own. Party Playland features colorful mini-games where you catch chickens, crush crabs, and dodge traps, while Space Academy takes you on a journey through the solar system. Both are played using your hands, without controllers, making them the ideal introduction for little ones to try virtual reality for the first time (the experience is recommended for ages 8 and up).
Virtual Reality and Prison Island in One Outing
Since both experiences are housed in the same building, Fever offers packages that combine a Spark VR session with a one-and-a-half-hour or two-hour Prison Island session, in the “More Immersion” and “More Fun” options. A one-hour outing can turn into a full afternoon, with a stop at the Spark Café between missions. For celebrations, Spark VR also offers a special package for birthdays and bachelor/bachelorette parties in Madrid, featuring group challenges and appetizers.
