Madrid’s night sky will be unusually lit up this Saturday night to celebrate the May 2, 2026 festivities, when a swarm of no fewer than 1,000 drones will take center stage in Madrid’s skies—an unprecedented spectacle for these celebrations.
This is the first time that a drone show has been included as part of the official program for the regional festivities—which, by the way, you can check out at this link. The event, which is completely free to attend, will take place starting at 10 p.m. at Parque de la Cuña Verde, in the Latina district.
The details that have emerged about the event include its duration (about twelve minutes) and the types of figures that will appear in the sky: “There will be ten scenes depicting different events and iconic figures commemorating the May 2 celebration, as well as landmarks representative of the Community of Madrid,” according to the festival’s official website.
Themed drone shows in Madrid

The fact that a show of this nature has found a place in the May 2nd program—where it coexists with folklore, traditional customs, history, and even live music— speaks to the interest these shows generate.
In Madrid, there are also plenty of options to choose from: DroneArt Show, which has taken these experiences to 40 cities around the world, is offering two themed drone shows at the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela : DroneArt Show: Harry Potter™ and DroneArt Show: Space Chase.
