Alcalá Norte is the band from Madrid that is the precursor of the philosophy of La vida cañón. It is also the band that manages to sell out three concerts in a row at La Riviera and announces its first Movistar Arena for 2027. And now, they are leaving the neighborhood where they grew up, Ciudad Lineal, to play inside the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de San Lorenzo. Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial..

All this is part of the Mad Sounds cycle, the initiative that takes artists from all over the world to record some of their songs in spectacular locations in the Community of Madrid. Under the slogan Discovering Madrid through music, they have taken Ona Mafalda to the Palacio Real de Aranjuez, Inazio to the Lavadero Municipal de Tielmes or Persia Holder to the Palacio de Goyeneche.

Alvaro (voice) is in the center of the video, looks around. Life canyon and Neptune in the background. The walls are art, large works of Rubens reinterpreted in tapestry format; the environment, full of Fernandino-type furniture. They are located in an antedormitory within what is known as the Palace of the Bourbons, that is, the spaces of the Royal Monastery that Charles III had modified to adapt them to the Frenchified taste of the Bourbon dynasty. It is a series of rooms lined up and located around the Patio de Coches.
The video is spectacular for the acoustics of the room, which is clean and packed; yes, we miss the heavy of the band, Jaime Barbosa (drums) who does not appear in this recording. The rest of the quintet does: Jaime Barbosa (drums), Laura de Diego (keyboards), Carlos Elías (guitar) and Pablo Prieto (bass), as well as the aforementioned Álvaro Rivas.
The band’s first Movistar Arena: in February 2027.

It looked like it was going to happen: after announcing the “sold out” for three dates at La Riviera, it’s time to go one step further: a concert at Movistar Arena. This one, recently announced, will serve to celebrate what has been achieved but also to present their second and brand new album (currently in production). Tickets are already on sale.
