The “Alcobendas of the future”. In these terms is expressed by the consistory of the town when talking about how the city will be after the implementation of several major projects that will transform it in the coming years.
Specifically, there will be five actions to be carried out that will affect different areas of Alcobendas and its neighbors. To carry them out , more than 160 million euros will be invested through a public-private partnership investment plan.
What will Alcobendas be like in the future?
Housing
10,000 housing units will be built in the next 10 years, of which 900 will be quality public rental housing units , which will be raffled before the end of 2027.
On the other hand, its new Partial Plan, which has been initially approved by the Plenary, will give the green light to the construction of 8,600 homes in Los Carriles-Valgrande, both public and private.
Health
The first privately managed general hospital will be built on a municipal plot: it will be in the Valdelacasa Business Park. “This project will generate revenues for the city of more than 100 million in royalties during the 70-year concession period,” says the City Council.
In the public sector, the Community of Madrid will build a new health center specialized in psychiatry, psychology and emotional health in Fuente Lucha.
Safety and neighborhood relaxation
Four kilometers of acoustic screens will be renewed on both sides of the A-1 and the Pablo Picasso, Castilla y León, Salamanca and Segovia parks will be closed around the perimeter.
Mobility and cleanliness
In the last quarter of this year, the second phase of Operation Asphalt will be carried out. And it will do so with a historic investment of 8 million euros. A 207-space park-and-ride lot will also be built, as well as the Bulevar Madrid Norte, to travel on foot or by bicycle from Alcobendas to Madrid.
As for street renovation, work has already begun on Iris, Hiedra and Paseo de la Marquesa Viuda de Aldama streets. In addition, an increase in investment has been approved to improve Constitución Street. The changes include the renovation of the urban environment and the planting of 38 new trees.
Families
Families will have a leading role with the creation of a family and children’s support center, the renovation of a dozen children’s areas and the development of a large forest park. In addition, an indoor gymnasium will be built at the Parque de Cataluña school.
