It shares its name with a volcano in Hawaii, but it’s quite the opposite: a massive water roller coaster that you can enjoy in Madrid this summer. Although the season is still a few months away, Aquopolis Villanueva de la Cañada has already launched its new attraction, called“Kilauea.”
With a track length of nearly 180 meters, Kilauea features multiple visual effects and four acceleration moments, making it the park’s largest and most technologically advanced structure.
Unique in Europe

The attraction combines adrenaline, speed, and new aquatic sensations to create an immersive experience. Furthermore, it differs from conventional water slides because it features a straight section with propelled water, which provides much better momentum throughout the entire ride.
With this, Kilauea aims to become a national benchmark and one of the most innovative aquatic experiences in Europe. It will be open to the public starting June 12, when the park opens its doors.
Tickets are now available for purchase online, with prices starting at 22.90 euros. There are also options for school groups, special offers for children under 140 centimeters tall, and open-date tickets .
Beach, waves, and attractions

Currently, Aquopolis Villanueva de la Cañada is one of the most famous water parks in Madrid, as it boasts a large area and a beach with over 2,000 square meters of sand.
Beyond Kilauea, there are many other attractions for all ages and with varying levels of intensity. For children, there’s even the option to transform into a mermaid or merman, swimming with a tail and blending swimming with imagination.
Finally, the park features VIP areas where visitors can relax on lounge chairs, sofas, and in cabanas, as well as several dining areas where they can eat, enjoy an ice cream, or cool off with a slushie.
However, with summer just around the corner, there are several other water parks in Madrid that are also great options for cooling off and enjoying a fun-filled day.
