If the experience of the swimming pools in Madrid if you need the adrenaline and the nostalgia of having been a happy child invades you, it is the best time to take a look at the water parks in Madrid.
Thanks to Madrid’s obsession with the lack of beach (even though our lakes and rivers can fill the vacuum) some spaces have been created that offer worthy alternatives to water sports and activities such as these:
1. Aquopolis of Villanueva de la Cañada
Aquopolis is one of the largest water parks in Europe and is undoubtedly the most famous in Madrid. The season opens on June 15, and usually ends in the first weeks of September. Among its summer attractions is the white sand beach of two thousand square meters accompanied by a swimming pool with waves, in addition to its iconic slides.
Its attractions are divided into High Thrill, Moderate and children’s rides, so if you are not ready for powerful adrenaline rushes, you can easily choose the gentler ones or just take a dip in the pool.
If after watching The Little Mermaid movie you want to live the experience of swimming with a monofin which mythological being, there are 30-minute classes for children over 5 years old.

The Amusement Park is one of those places where childhood memories are forged when you’ve grown up in the capital. And although the great classics are the roller coasters of Abismo, Tornado, Vertigo or La Lanzadera, in summer other attractions steal the show.
The Fjords unite simplicity and water, with just the right amount of excitement: it is a boat descending through the water at high speed, from which it is almost impossible to come out dry. El Aserradero follows a similar scheme, with the same success. And finally there are The Rapids: the boat this time takes cylindrical shape and the rough waters are directing you to its mercy. Silly laughter lasts all the way.
