Once past the halfway point of the month of November, the announcements of Christmas plans follow one after the other almost daily. And if last week we talked about the return of La Navideña, now the one that has announced dates for this year is the Javier Fernández ice rink.
Located in the Plaza de Colón, in the heart of the Salamanca neighborhood, this ice rink has an area of 800 square meters and will be open from November 28 to January 6, 2025. The skating shifts last 30 minutes and it is mandatory to wear gloves (if you don’t have them, you can buy them there for 2€).
The rink, on the other hand, is open to all public, bearing in mind that children under 7 years old must be accompanied by an adult. As for skate rental, they have available numbers ranging from 29 to 48. For the little ones, in addition, there will be some blades adaptable to their own footwear.
Prices and schedule of the ice rink
- General admission (skating 30 minutes + skate rental): 8€.
- Ticket + gloves: 10€.
- Ticket + teddy bear rental (to help the little ones skate): 12€.
- Ticket + teddy bear rental + gloves: 14€.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to Down España. Tickets can be purchased both online -on the website of the ice rink- and physically, in a booth located in the square itself. On the other hand, the rink schedule -which varies depending on the day- can be consulted at this link.
According to the schedule, the day before the opening of the rink, Wednesday, November 27, the inauguration of this already classic Christmas event in Madrid will take place with the presence of the multi-awarded Spanish skater that gives it its name.
Skating will not be the only activity that can be carried out in the Plaza de Colón during the holidays: there will also be a Christmas market and a merry-go-round.
