Once again this year (and this makes four), Madrid’s Plaza de España will be transformed into one of the hubs of Christmas celebrations in the capital with the arrival of La Navideña: the flea market with stalls, gastronomic area and ice rink by Super 8 Entertainment.
This time it will be open to the public from November 22 to January 5, 2025, and visitors will find 40 booths – in the style of the markets of northern Europe – with all kinds of handmade products and a food court with hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, the legendary churros de San Ginés and the restaurant El Alpino.
It will also return its natural ice rink of 450 m², “through which passed more than 60,000 skaters last year,” they say. Tickets are priced at 9 € and can be purchased at the box office or through the website of La Navideña. On the other hand, in the evenings there will be “varied performances”.
Schedule of La Navideña
- Monday to Friday: 12h to 22h
- Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: from 10 am to 10 pm.
As it happens with other Christmas events such as Naturaleza Encendida, this also stars a controversy that has to do, among other things, with the privatization of the public space for the celebration of this type of events. The neighbors of the area have been complaining about this and other issues such as noise for a long time -here is an example collected by Diego Casado in Somos Madrid en 2022-.
