Less than a week ago Madrid officially kicked off the holiday season with the lighting of the Christmas lights. Beyond the lights the city is also full of activities and cultural and leisure proposals, and in the case of the Christmas program in Chamberí this 2024 comes with important new features.
Among them, one of the most outstanding is the fact that the historic fronton Beti Jai, which has reopened permanently to the public and with an interpretation center this year, will host a New Year’s concert on January 4, 2025.
On the other hand, from December 19 to 23 the Christmas Bus will travel the streets of the district from 18h to 21h free of charge to see the lighting. Also as a novelty, on December 21, Fuencarral Street will become the scene of a Christmas parade.
Christmas in Chamberí 2024 Program
As for the rest of the program, the neighbors of the neighborhood -as well as anyone who comes to the area- will find in the Plaza de Chamberí and in the Galileo Cultural Center light and sound shows every hour from 18h to 21h until January 7.
The activities, especially designed for children, such as a balloon workshop or a white parade with “artists on stilts and jugglers, all accompanied by music and games,” said the Madrid City Council.
In addition, there will also be concerts of choirs, blues and gospel, Spanish dance, circus, workshops, children’s stories and family sports. Not forgetting a route of cribs: this year a total of six will be visited, of which one of them will be, for the first time, living.
