With the aim of reducing the energy footprint of buildings in the capital and reduce the electricity bill in the winter months, the Community of Madrid launches the Plan Renove de Ventanas. According to Carlos Novillo, Minister for the Environment, Agriculture and the Interior, the project will achieve annual savings of three million kWh in Madrid homes.
What does the Window Renewal Plan consist of?
With a budget of three million euros, this plan helps residents of the Community of Madrid to replace old windows with more energy-efficient ones. Each resident applying for the subsidy can receive a maximum of 3,000 euros. The exact amount will depend on the size of the glass and whether or not the windows have motorized blinds.
- 120 EUR/m² of glass installed: for windows without motorized shutter.
- 180 EUR/m² of glass installed: for windows with motorized shutters.
