Giant American-style supermarkets have become the new allies of families who need to save time and money in the shopping basket. In Madrid we have several, Costco being one of the most famous for its club-store concept, with benefits for members and products at good prices to buy in bulk. In October this year, Alcorcón will host a hypermarket that promises to be cheaper than Costco and, in general, than any other supermarket in the surrounding area.
The new supermarket in Alcorcón is Kiwi Market (Calle de las Fábricas, 11). It will sell everything from ready meals to fresh foods such as meat, fish and fruit, both wholesale and retail.
According to online sales expert Christian Raúl Gallegos, most of the items on the shelves will be of Spanish origin. However, there will be no shortage of international offerings: there will be typical foods from Latin America, Romania, Eastern countries and other parts of the world, promoting multiculturalism.
Through its social networks, Kiwi Market has announced its ambition to become “the cheapest supermarket in Madrid.” According to its team on Instagram, “while other companies make small reductions of one, two or three cents in their promotions, Kiwi Market offers real discounts.” However, they have not yet unveiled the prices that their products will have.
In addition to focusing on offering competitive prices, Kiwi Market wants to stand out for its customer service. In a video, the company claims to have exceptional workers who will provide a warm welcome and farewell to those who pass through the new supermarket.
