It is not every day that one can see Romeo and Juliet, 64, Prokofiev’s ballet, practically for free, especially in an institution such as the Teatro Monumental (Calle de Atocha, 65). But that is exactly what will happen this Sunday, January 26 with the concert at only 1 € 1 that will give the Municipal Symphonic Band of Madrid (BSMM), under the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the City of Madrid.
It will be at 11 am and will also feature the collaboration of the puppet company Per Poc. Thus, together, and under the baton of the assistant musical director Sergio Casas, the public will attend a concert in which live music coexists with a visual and theatrical narration.
As for the work, it is a ballet in three acts that premiered on January 11, 1940 and is based on the famous and universally known play by William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet.
