The festivities of Parla will take to the streets of the city in the south of the Community of Madrid from Friday 12 to Tuesday 16 September. Almost as if to compensate for the end of summer, the patron saint celebrations are also repeated these weeks in many Madrid municipalities such as Alcalá de Henares or San Sebastián de los Reyes.
In Parla this year the opening speech will take place on Friday 12, at 22:00 h, and will be given by Julián Calero Fernández, ex-football player and coach of Levante U.D. Music, the fair and children’s activities will occupy the rest of the celebrations.
Concerts and live music
The musical program is the highlight of all the local celebrations. The concerts are free of charge and will be held mainly at the Recinto Ferial on Calle Picasso. On Friday 12, the local band Los 4 Pelagatos opens the stage at 21:00 h, followed by the opening speech (22:00 h) and then the awaited concert of Coti, one of the highlights of these festivities. The day will end with a fireworks display (00:30 h, Julio Romero de Torres street parking) and DJ ON-T session (01:00 h).
On Saturday 13, also from 21:00 h, will perform The Killer Kids Rock and at 22:00 h will be the turn of Los Rebujitos, a reference in pop-flamenco music. The night will continue with DJ Armin Heidari (00:00 h). At the same time, there will be a big popular dance in Parla Este with the orchestra Rival.
On Sunday 14 the local area will be highlighted with Pura Konciencia (21:00 h) as opening act for the big Miss Caffeina concert at 22:00 h. The night continues with popular dance by the orchestra Sirope on Avenida de los Planetas and culminates with entertainment by RSP and BACK DJ.
On Monday 15 the little ones will have a leading role with activities and children’s proclamation, before the interactive concert Kids Rock Family (19:00 h) and folk performances as the Grupo Rociero La Soledad and Xena orchestra until late at night.
