The streets that Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Quevedo, among others, chose to live in are now called with good sense of humor The Letters. One of the highlights of the neighborhood at present is the celebration of Cultuletras. This is the third consecutive year that it has been carried out and aims to “give visibility to the extensive cultural network that takes place in the streets and squares of this area of the district of Centro”, in the words of the Madrid City Council.
This edition starts tomorrow, Thursday, June 6 and ends on Sunday, June 9. The activities are varied, from enjoying dramatized routes, workshops, presentations and exhibitions, to storytelling for children. There will also be an amateur painting contest and a short film contest.
To Honor the name of the neighborhood and as a nod to the Golden Age (and the only Spanish sport) there will be a fencing exhibition and later a talk with experts.
