Starting this Friday, July 25, coinciding with the start of the long weekend for the feast of St. James the Apostle, Metro line 7 will be subject to cuts until next Tuesday, July 29. The reason? Some re-signaling works.
The works will take place in the section between Barrio de la Concepción and Canal stations, leaving the following stations without service:
- Parque de las Avenidas.
- Cartagena.
- Avenida de América. It will maintain the service of lines 4, 6 and 9.
- Gregorio Marañón. Will maintain the service of line 10.
- Alonso Cano.
Metro line 7 will continue to provide service between Canal and Pitis stations, and between Barrio de la Concepción and Estadio Metropolitano-Barrio del Puerto stations.
Free EMT substitute service

As an alternative to the cuts on Metro Line 7, the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid (CRTM), in collaboration with Metro, the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) and the Madrid City Council has designed a special device of alternative bus transport.
It is totally free of charge and will reinforce the urban lines in the area (as is the case of line 12 between Cristo Rey and Marqués de Zafra), covering on the surface the routes between Barrio de la Concepción and Canal stations.

Cuts also in Cercanías (suburban trains)

The Madrid suburban is not the only means of transport that will be affected this summer: the works in Cercanías Madrid, which began last July 2 and will last until August 30, affect the following lines to different degrees:
- C-5
- C-10
- C-3
- C-4
