Since Decathlon opened its first store in Spain back in 1992, the French multinational has established itself as a benchmark brand for buying sportswear at competitive prices. After 33 years distributing products at low cost in the peninsula to make the world of sport increasingly accessible, opens its first Pro shop in Madrid.
A Pro shop is defined as a store specialized in a specific sport, offering high quality products, personalized advice and technical services for athletes of all levels, from amateurs to professionals.
The multinational’s new store will be located in Rivas-Vaciamadrid and will focus on exclusive second-hand products for cyclists. The opening represents a new step forward in the transformation strategy that the company initiated last year: betting on the circular economy within its business model.
According to Decathlon, the Pro shop ‘s products will constitute “an attractive alternative for acquiring second-hand bicycles” both high-end and mid-range. 180 m² of the store will be dedicated to the buyback and sale of bikes, some of them from premium brands. Of course, all of them will come with a one-year warranty.
In addition, the store will offer bike customization, maintenance and repair services. It will also have an online space to purchase its products from anywhere in the world.
