Madrid says goodbye to 2025 with its traditional chimes at Puerta del Sol and, this year, also with one last free concert. Starting at 22:30, Edurne will take the stage to say goodbye to the year with her performance, which will end just in time so as not to interrupt the ritual of the grapes.
The event is organized by the radio station Kiss FM and started last December 30 with DJs Quique Tejada and Toni Peret, better known as “Dream Team”, who filled Kilometer 0 with their musical mixes.
Up to 15,000 people
Tonight, Puerta del Sol will be filled with locals and visitors who will want to experience the chimes up close and who will also be able to enjoy the singer Edurne. To ensure safety, the capacity will be limited to 15,000 people, as communicated by the Madrid City Council.
Security filters will be set up to control the entrances and prevent the introduction of dangerous elements. Access will be possible from Calle Alcalá, Carrera de San Jerónimo, Calle Mayor and Arenal, all under the control of the local and national police.
In total, more than 300 municipal personnel will be deployed , including police, health, firefighters and cleaning staff. The objective, as explained yesterday by the deputy mayor and delegate of Security and Emergencies, Inma Sanz, is to ensure ” total normality and the absence of major incidents in the celebrations, despite the large influx of people“.
When to enter Sol
Puerta del Sol will be cleared around 21:00 hours, leaving free space for operators to clean the area and remove debris. In addition, the police will be in charge of closing the entrances and checking the space, allowing access from 22:00 hours, through a double police filter.
Public transport will be affected by the festivities, so that Sol station will be closed from 18:00 hours until the next day. Other services will also change their frequencies and schedules, so we recommend checking before leaving home.
Edurne’s Christmas hits and repertoire
In the last concert of the year, Edurne will perform live some of the most outstanding songs of her career and, of course, the songs from her recent album “Navidad junto a ti“, released in November 2025.
From her social networks, the artist has promoted the concert and has also shared the emotion it gives her. “As a Madrileña, it makes me a huge illusion to spend a New Year’s Eve singing in such an emblematic place” Edurne has written in her Instagram profile.
