The El Cañaveral Retail Park project is moving forward, now with 64.6 million euros in financing from Caixa Bank. The total investment in the retail park, developed by OMO Retail, will exceed 100 million euros. It will be located at Avenida Miguel Delibes 1, in the El Cañaveral neighborhood ( Vicálvaro district), one of Madrid’s major neighborhoods currently under construction, resulting from recent urban developments in the southeast.
The new retail park follows the “large mid-sized stores” format: it will be an open-air shopping area with 54 stores accessible from the outside. The usable area of the site exceeds 73,000 square meters, of which 12,000 will be dedicated to a central plaza designed for events, concerts, and flea markets. It is thus poised to become the largest retail park (not a shopping center) in the city of Madrid, and the second largest in the Community of Madrid after Westfield Parquesur.
Confirmed stores, paddle tennis courts, and recreational offerings

El Cañaveral Retail Park will be divided into five zones, including areas for groceries, home improvement and household goods, fashion, sports and pet supplies, dining, and leisure and paddle tennis. The retail giant also plans to include 13 paddle tennis courts on its rooftop and 2,573 parking spaces.
Construction began on the site in late April, and the park is scheduled to open in time for the 2027 Christmas shopping season. Confirmed tenants include Urban Planet, Lidl, Ilusiona, Mercadona, Lidl, Ahorramás, McDonald’s, and Kiabi. Plans also call for a home improvement store covering more than 15,000 square meters.
