Fusion cuisine is all the rage, and the Chifa & Nikkei Fest is taking charge with a free food festival where Asian and Peruvian cuisines will take center stage: a dozen restaurants from the Community of Madrid will participate and prepare their signature dishes throughout the festival.
Among them are chicken tonkatsu and maki rolls with rocoto cream from El Rincón Peruano, duck glazed in Nikkei sauce from Wenazo Restobar, bluefin tuna ceviche from Xolo Nikkei, fried wontons in tamarind sauce from El Jato by Oceanika, and lomo saltado from La Morocha.
The list of participating restaurants is completed by Sakura Maru, Tambo Peruano, Hoku Perú, and Sonqo Pollo a la Brasa. Matellini Café and Lavin will be serving their traditional Peruvian desserts and cheesecakes, respectively, to round off the menu with something sweet.
As an accompaniment, you can try both traditional Peruvian Frush Fresh soft drinks and a wide variety of cocktails. The event will take place at the Multipurpose Center in Las Rozas, Madrid.
From a bouncy castle to the derby: the activities of the Chifa & Nikkei Fest
In addition to the gastronomic aspect, the festival will feature a program of cultural activities, free tastings, masterclasses, traditional dances… and the little ones will be entertained with games, face painting, a bouncy castle, and workshops run by La Juguetería de Pipa.
For soccer fans, the Madrid derby between Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid will be broadcast live on March 22.
