All it takes is a short trip—just over half an hour from Madrid—to experience one of the summer highlights that, year after year, draws hundreds of visitors every weekend at nightfall: the spectacular free show at the Parque Europa Fountain in Torrejón de Ardoz.
It is one of the municipality’s most iconic summer events, during which the public can enjoy a show featuring water, light, and sound starting at 10:30 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through September 27.
The show can be viewed from the Parque Europa Greek Theater, which seats about 700 spectators and offers a prime vantage point from which to watch a show that Torrejón councilman Alejandro Navarro says “has already become a cultural landmark and a must-see event of the summers in the Community of Madrid.”
Three different shows and a new addition
The program at the Parque Europa Fountain in Torrejón de Ardoz varies depending on the day of the show. On Fridays , “Happiness” will be performed, a show that has been very well received in previous years, while Sundays will feature “Crazy for the ’80s,” another classic of the event.
The novelty will come on Saturdays, with a brand-new show inspired by Eurovision: “a production that has been added to the lineup to surprise attendees with some of the most iconic songs from the popular music contest.”
Concerts at the Greek Theater
Prior to the show, this weekend starting at 9:00 p.m., you can attend the following concerts:
- June 12. Rondalla Torrejón, Coral Clave I, and Alitas de Malaikah.
- June 13. Ítaca Artistic Collective, Polyphonic Choir, and Bolly Vishnu.
Meanwhile, on Saturdays in July at the same time, the 7th National Band Festival of Torrejón de Ardoz will take place. It will feature the following participants:
- July 4. Torrejón de Ardoz Municipal Band.
- July 11. Band of the Alfafar Music School (Valencia).
- July 18. Santa Cecilia Music Society of Dosbarrios (Toledo).
- July 25. Banda Llevant Academy (Zaragoza).
