At number 12 José Villena street, a few meters from Las Ventas station, is Mundo Azucarado: a store that works as a clothing store, sweets and surprise packages at the same time. Its distinctive feature? Its offer of cheap products in XXL size.
The star products: sweets and snacks
Mundo Azucarado stands out for its sweets, candies, chocolates and snacks, some brought from Asia and America. Here they are bought in bulk: lollipops, licorice and chewy candies are sold in boxes of up to 200 units, sometimes for less than 10€. In quantity, their offers are reminiscent of those found at Costco, the famous Yankee-style shopping mall that sweeps Madrid.
As for prices, they could not be more striking: a package with 15 jars of Nutella comes out at less than 14 € (when a large jar usually costs about 6 € in any supermarket) and a kg of sweets does not go up to 5.40 €.
Branded clothing and surprise boxes
The store has a second-hand clothing section that includes brands such as Nike, Levi’s, Scalpers or Fila. It usually has clothes from 5€ and packs of sneakers or t-shirts for 20€ (and less). In addition, it has caught the fever of surprise boxes and offers packages with items from Amazon, Shein and AliExpress.
More stores that sell big in Madrid
Those who aim to fill the shopping cart without going over budget have great supermarkets in Madrid to achieve it. From Action, one of the cheapest in Spain, to La Trastienda, which has gone viral on TikTok for its prices and its mediatic owner.
