Madrid joins the global route of boutique festivals with a new proposal with a mystical name. Pulse of Gaia is the name of the event that has just announced its landing in the capital, and its first big claim needs no introduction: Gorillaz will perform on September 20 in what will be their only concert outside the UK in all of 2025.
The festival will take place in a space yet to be discovered located at kilometer 15 of the M-607 (on the stretch between Fuencarral and El Pardo), a peripheral but well-connected location that is not new to lovers of large-format electronica. It is organized by the team behind Zamna, the influential collective born in Tulum and responsible for multisensory parties that have conquered cities like Miami, Barcelona or São Paulo. This year they also disembark in Tenerife.
The Gorillaz concert
The performance of Gorillaz will not be just any concert. They are celebrating 25 years of career, with their full live line-up -Damon Albarn at the front, with visuals by Jamie Hewlett- reviewing the best of their eight studio albums. In the words of the organization, this is a “special and unrepeatable performance”, as well as the first time the band has been invited to a Pulse of Gaia.
Although the full line-up has not yet been revealed, the organization has confirmed that there will be at least one other international headliner. Tickets go on sale today on their website.
The festival defines itself as “more than a festival, a spark of human connection,” and promises a mix of “multi-genre music, sacred architecture and immersive design.” If it sounds abstract, in a way, that’s because it wants to be.
