Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes will be connected by a circular bus, responding to a “historical demand” among its neighbors, as explained by the Mayor of Alcobendas, Rocío García Alcántara, during the State of the City Debate.
The route will be circular and will operate in both directions to link the cities in a 16-kilometer route with 48 stops. The measure has been promoted by the Regional Transport Consortium. It will be an extension of line 5, which currently links San Sebastián de los Reyes with El Soto de la Moraleja.
45 minutes and key accesses for 2026

The new bus between Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes will take between 45 and 50 minutes to complete its route. In addition, it will include key stops at places such as the Infanta Sofía University Hospital, the San Sebastián de los Reyes suburban train station and the La Vega and Plaza Norte 2 shopping centers.
The Regional Transport Consortium expects that this new service will be put out to tender before 2026 and that the new route will meet the needs of the residents of both municipalities. For the time being, the modification of line 5 is still in the planning phase.
The future streets where this bus will stop will be Avenida de la Ermita, Paseo de la Chopera, Avenida de España, Avenida de la Sierra, Avenida de Andalucía, Avenida de Valencia, Avenida de Aragón, Avenida de Tenerife, Avenida de Quiñones, Plaza Concha Espina, Paseo de Europa, Avenida de Matapiñonera, Avenida Rafael Nadal, Avenida de la Vega, Anabel Segura, Camino Ancho, Paseo de Alcobendas, Camino Nuevo, Calle Begonia and Calle Nardo.
Improvements in transportation

Alcobendas, in the words of its mayoress, is a city “with a great present and a great future ahead, leaving no one behind“. The connection with San Sebastián de los Reyes is not the only transportation measure being carried out, and the mayoress took the opportunity to remind them during the State of the City Debate.
This summer, the circular lines of buses C10 and C11 were extended to the neighborhoods of Valdelafuentes, Fuentelucha and El Juncal. The latter will also include a stop on line 159 in the future. In the case of the Jardines de la Vega area, the stops on line 1 will be extended and there will be a future direct bus to Plaza Castilla.
Finally, in order to reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, two hybrid urban buses have been implemented in Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes. Both are accessible for people with reduced mobility and are part of the set of hybrid buses operating in the Community of Madrid.
