Eating inside the Mario Bros. universe is now possible. And you don’t have to go to a theme park or any special event to do it: it’s all thanks to the new restaurant that just opened in Madrid.
Luigi’s, named after Mario’s faithful companion , offers an Italian menu at the Bilbao roundabout in the Chamberí district. Here, you can enjoy pizza, croquettes, or pasta carbonara surrounded by various elements from the video game.
Visual and gastronomic immersion

The restaurant’s decor is meticulously designed and recreates the worlds Mario Bros. explores. Highlights include a ceiling covered in the famous red mushrooms, question mark blocks promising rewards, and Piranha Plants. You can even find stained-glass windows featuring more icons and characters, such as Princess Peach.
These references can also be found on the menu itself, such as the mushroom-shaped dessert, which consists of a chocolate sponge cake and raspberry mousse.
Flavors of Italy

But beyond the Mario Bros. icons, Luigi’s offers all kinds of traditional Italian cuisine. Highlights include the truffle béchamel and provolone cheese croquettes for 9 euros or the pasta sautéed inside a wheel of Parmesan with creamy truffle sauce for17.50 euros.
And, of course, there’s also a wide variety of pizzas at different price points, such as the carbonara, the diavolina ( with spicy Italian salami), the classic margarita, the pizza with Parma ham, cherry tomatoes, and arugula, and even a vegetarian option.
Other options on the menu include Nonna’s meatballs simmered in traditional sauce, lasagna with Bolognese sauce, and various types of stuffed pasta , fusilli, spaghetti, and gnocchi.
In addition to the à la carte menu, there is also the option to order a set menu, which includes two dishes from the menu for 24.95 euros per person, excluding drinks and dessert, with the option to add another dish for an extra 1 euro.
