With the arrival of Christmas, Madrid is transformed and, in addition to the lighting and Christmas decorations, adds a new videomapping show. The projection was inaugurated last November 28 and can be seen at kilometer zero of the Puerta del Sol, specifically on the facade of the Real Casa de Correos, current headquarters of the regional government.
Every day until January 6 there will be screenings of the Wishing Factory, the audiovisual show that turns the building into an Advent calendar. The images are accompanied by a soundtrack and all kinds of traditional decorations, gifts and sweets typical of the season appear.
The shows are free and begin every evening at 6:00 pm. They are repeated every 30 minutes until 23:00 hours from Monday to Thursday, extending until 00:00 hours on weekends and the days from December 19 to January 6.
A door to magical worlds

The videomapping will follow the countdown to Christmas Day and each box on the calendar will reveal a fantasy world. As explained by the Community of Madrid, they aim to transport the viewer “to three-dimensional spaces that seem to come out to meet them.”
The show comes to life thanks to three technical towers that allow the three-dimensional projection to be built. It is a display of effects, light, colors and music, in which technology and tradition come together to create a unique experience.
The brilliance of Heritage

This tour of magical spaces also includes an interactive visit to the five World Heritage Sites hosted by the Community of Madrid. They are integrated in the history of the Fábrica de los Deseos and allow to highlight its cultural and natural wealth.
Thus, it will be possible to recognize spaces such as the Paseo del Prado, the Retiro Park and the neighborhood of Los Jerónimos in Madrid, which make up the so-called “Landscape of Light“, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021.
Outside the capital, the historic site of Alcalá de Henares, the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the Cultural Landscape of Aranjuez, which fuses landscapes, architecture and art, are included. Finally, in the category of Natural Heritage, we can find the Hayedo de Montejo, a fairytale forest located in the mountains.
More eventswith videomapping

The videomapping of the Real Casa de Correos is not the only one that can be seen this Christmas in Madrid. This new technology is present in many events in the capital, such as the switching on of the Christmas lights this year.
It can also be enjoyed at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Conde Duque, which has a central courtyard where “A Christmas of Light” will be screened. Admission is also free and the screenings will be from Wednesday 17 to Tuesday December 23, from 18:30h to 23h.
