With a forecast of good weather, the 2026 Holy Week celebrations in Madrid are shaping up to be a worry-free event, with no concerns regarding the possibility of the large processions and floats taking place—which every year at this time traverse both the historic center of the capital and the neighborhoods.
Following the processions held on March 29—including some of the most popular ones, such as that of Nuestro Padre Jesús del Amor (“La Borriquita”) and that of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe y del Perdón (“Los Estudiantes”)— there are still a large number of processions yet to take place .
In fact, it is precisely the ones yet to be held that draw the largest crowds and inspire the deepest devotion, coinciding with the Easter Triduum—the central period of Holy Week, between Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday, which commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ.
