Four blue machines have just been installed in Atocha and in three terminals of Barajas. The Municipal Transport Company (EMT) has created them so that we can ride the Airport Express line (203) and other buses in Madrid with the ticket already purchased. Thus, any user, whether native or foreigner, can buy trips in an intuitive way.
Each machine has a color touch screen, a bank card reader, a coin module and a QR scanner, to facilitate its use and adapt to any payment method. Of course: none of them returns cash (the surplus can only be used to buy other bills), so it is recommended to pay by card for those who do not carry loose change. In addition, there are three languages to choose from: English, French and Spanish.
The machines are located at stop 3540 of T1; stop 3542 of T2; and stop 5726 of T4 and outside the Atocha interchange (stop 5709). The fare for a single ticket is €1.50 for conventional bus lines and €5 for the Airport Express line.
The Exprés Aeropuerto line includes special services such as an exclusive luggage area or 24-hour travel. It was the first in Madrid to include card payment on the buses.
