It’s not an exam, but if it were, a Madrid restaurant would have scored the equivalent of a ten: the Repsol Guide held the 2026 Repsol Suns Award Ceremony at the Tarragona Exhibition and Congress Center, where Ramón Freixa Atelier (Calle Velázquez, 24) in Madrid was awarded Three Repsol Suns, the highest possible rating.
The Repsol Guide describes Freixa’s gastronomic offering in the following terms: “at a bar for only ten diners, he seeks to reach the climax through an exclusive experience.” This gastronomic space could also be defined by a kind of resilience: after a hiatus due to a change of location, it has revalidated both its two Michelin stars and its Three Repsol Suns.
Joining the Madrid restaurant on the Repsol Suns 2026 podium are the Galician restaurant A Tafona by Lucía Freitas and Voro, a Mallorcan-Andalusian fusion led by Álvaro Salazar. According to the experts, this is evidence of “the diversity we enjoy in our country.”
