Air Europa is warming up for a summer in which it will increase its offer of flights to America from Madrid. Between mid-June and early September, the airline will deploy a daily operation to link the peninsula with its five most popular destinations on the other side of the Atlantic. It will increase weekly frequencies to Medellin (Colombia), Havana (Cuba), Asuncion (Paraguay), Panama and especially New York (USA).
This increase in activity in America will be extended to other routes: there will be flights to Cancun (Mexico) and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) five times a week, as well as four weekly frequencies to Salvador de la Bahia (Brazil) and Cordoba (Argentina).
Air Europa has also announced a doubling of its activity in Ecuador: from summer onwards and permanently, there will be three direct flights a week to both Quito and Guayaquil. There will no longer be intermediate stops at other airports, which will speed up travel between Madrid and these two Ecuadorian cities.
The increase in flights will allow Air Europa to offer 3.5 million seats on long-haul routes. The Globalia corporation expects to reach 3.3 million passengers transported by the end of the year, and that, on each flight, the aircraft will reach an occupancy rate of over 84%.
The new transatlantic activity plan will be implemented thanks to three new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. This aircraft shortens long-haul flights by up to 40 minutes and consumes up to 25% less fuel.
