A week ago was made official the call for a strike of urban and intercity buses in Madrid. This threatened to last a month, starting tomorrow. But yesterday the unions CCOO, UGT and the Free Transport Union (SLT) reached a pre-agreement with the employers Confebus.
The strike, which could affect thousands of people in the Community of Madrid, could be called off in the next few hours if the measures proposed in the mediation act that took place at the Regional Institute of Mediation and Arbitration of Madrid are complied with.
The proposed measures mainly include a wage increase of 4.5% for this year, increases equivalent to the real CPI plus 1.25% for the years 2026 and 2027. In addition, improvements have been introduced in the night-time allowances, which would become 1.5 euros per hour between 10 p.m. and midnight and 2.5 euros per hour after midnight.
