There is practically no Easter Week in which the rain is not the protagonist and for that reason it is convenient to have at hand options of plans under cover in case the meteorological situation requires it. It is a good time to take refuge in one of the many exhibitions offered by the museums of the capital and, consequently, from today some of them extend their usual opening hours: this is the case of the Metro museums this Easter 2025.
This has been communicated by the Community of Madrid, alluding to the fact that the most representative exhibition spaces of the network will open more hours these days so that citizens can get to know them for free.
They will do so from today until Saturday from 10h to 14h and from 16h to 20h -on Easter Sunday they will remain closed in the afternoon-. These spaces are, namely:
- Nave de Motores
- The Caños de Peral
- Chamartín and Chamberí stations
In the case of the Pacífico Historic Foyer, the opening will be on April 19 from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Tickets and the Museum Passport
In order to visit the Metro museums this Easter -as it happens the rest of the year- it is necessary to book a ticket in advance through this website.
In addition, those who complete the tour -that is, visiting the above points and three other sites such as the Gran Vía exhibition, the Tirso de Molina hall and the Carpetana Paleontological Center- will be able to obtain a reward thanks to the Museums Passport.
To do so, they will have to stamp the document at each of the stops and, at the end, visitors can go to the stores in Sol and Plaza de Castilla to get their gift.
What do Madrid’s Metro museums have on display?
Those who dare to tour the subway’s museum spaces will find everything from historic trains dating from 1919 and vintage machinery to a station that is preserved as it was in the Madrid of the 1950s and 1960s or the largest archaeological museum underground in the capital.
