The Madrid City Council is holding a major online vehicle auction with starting prices impossible to find on the market, ranging from €60 to €500: there are more than 200 vehicles in total, including cars, motorcycles, and vans of various makes and models.
The vehicles available at the auction, managed by the International Auction Group (IAG), have been in service with the Madrid City Council: this includes, for example, medical and surveillance vehicles. However, for the auction, “the removal of any official insignia and professional equipmenthas been guaranteed, ”according to IAG.
That said, it is important to note that these types of vehicles require, in addition to passing the Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV), a retrofit ITV ( including a compliance report and a deinstallation certificate).

How do you sign up for the Madrid City Council vehicle auction?
This is an online auction that began on April 22, 2026, at 10 a.m. and will end on May 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. Bids can be submitted up to 24 hours before the auction closes: on May 6 at 10 a.m.
Both individuals, self-employed professionals, and companies may participate in the Madrid City Council vehicle auction, provided they have created a personal user account on the IAG website.
To officially participate, a €300 security deposit must be paid at the time of registration, valid for the entire auction: with this deposit, you can bid on as many vehicles as you wish.
If you do not ultimately secure the vehicle, the deposit will be fully refunded to the same bank account used on the registration form. The complete terms and conditions can be found in the documents at the bottom of this page.

In order to allow buyers to inspect the condition of the vehicles and address any questions, four open house days have been organized : April 28 and 29, and May 5 and 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
