Mutua Madrid Open is the most important tennis tournament in the capital, an official ATP and WTA competition that will be played until May 4 at the Caja Mágica. Tickets for all its matches are flying, you can buy them at Fever, its official point of sale.
Mutua Madrid Open is a top-level tournament in which great champions participate, from the top players in the ATP and WTA rankings to tennis players who are currently in lower positions but are historical winners of the tournament and, of course, many emerging stars who will be the cracks of the future.
Headliners: Zverev, Sabalenka, Swiatek… and the return of Djokovic
We woke up this Wednesday with the news of the absence of Alcaraz, who suffered an injury in the final of the Godó and, on medical advice, will not play in the Caja Mágica. However, great matches are still expected in the calendar, with players such as Andrey Rublev (who won this same tournament in 2024). The rest of the ATP “tops” such as Alexander Zverev (two-time winner of this tournament), Taylor Fritz or Novak Djokovic, who returns to the Madrid tournament, which he had not played since 2022, will not be missing either.
In the case of the WMA women’s line-up, all eyes are on the current world number 1 and 2: Aryna Sabalenka (winner of the trophy in 2023) and Iga Swiatek (winner of the trophy in 2024). However, some other high-level tennis players have already made a surprise, such as our most successful Spanish representative: Paula Badosa.
Along with all these figures, we will be able to enjoy the good game of emerging players such as Mirra Andreeva (17 years old) or Joao Fonseca (18 years old), who already know what it means to win WTA and ATP tournaments.
