A new fixed speed camera with an 80 km/h limit is already active in Madrid on the M-14, one of the main access highways to the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. This speed camera is located exactly at kilometer 1.68 of the M-14, in a stretch of only 3.2 km that connects exit 9 of the M-40 with terminals 1, 2 and 3 of the airport.
This radar has already started to penalize after a brief informative period of a few weeks. As this is an area with high traffic density and frequent speeding by drivers heading to or leaving the airport, the DGT has installed the device with the aim of reducing accidents and improving road safety at this strategic point of mobility in Madrid.
Where is the new radar in Madrid

The radar is of the Multaradar type and is hidden among the vegetation near the road to make it difficult to locate visually, although it must be properly signposted according to the regulations. Applying the legal margin of error (3 km/h for these radars), they can start penalizing from 84 km/h real speed.
Fines range from 100 € (for exceeding the limit up to 30 km/h, without loss of points), up to 600 € with the withdrawal of up to 6 points for much higher excesses. The location has been selected due to the high incidence of reckless driving on emergency flight accesses and the concentration of incidents, with the intention of reducing the accident rate and reinforcing control on one of the busiest roads in the capital.
This radar is part of the DGT’s Plan 2025, which includes the installation of more than a hundred new speed control devices throughout Spain this year.
