This fall in Madrid we have the opportunity to attend 140 activities for scientific research enthusiasts. These are part of an event that makes visible the essential role of the researcher in society. It will be held on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September, from 9:00 to 00:00 on both days.
The European Researchers’ Night in Madrid comes for the fifteenth consecutive year to different study sites and cultural spaces, including the Autonomous University, the Complutense University, CEU San Pablo, the Museum of Natural Sciences and the National Center for Biotechnology.
From Monday, September 16 passes for any of the proposed activities can be obtained through the Fundación para el Conocimiento Madri+d website. It is essential to book online a few days in advance, as places are limited. Especially for those planning to go with school groups.
Activity highlights
The 140 activities in the program cover a wide range of topics. These include environmental education, digital transformation, botany, medicine and mathematics. The dynamics of each activity depend on the subject matter.
In the project itinerary we find guided walks through the Alfonso XIII Botanical Garden; a fair that will fill the Círculo de Bellas Artes with researchers (we will be able to do small experiments to understand the daily life of a scientist) and children’s workshops that will help the little ones understand how cells work, the DNA and more medical discoveries. In addition, there will be talks on the care of essential organs such as the skin or the heart.
The European Researchers’ Night swill be organized simultaneously in more than 300 cities thanks to the Horizon Europe Program (2021-2027), a project that, according to the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, “aims to achieve a scientific, technological, economic and social impact on European Union investments.”
